The calmness of trees

"I never knew how soothing trees are -- many trees and patches of open sunlight, and tree-presences..."

-- D. H. Lawrence

(Plus, it's good to know that even one tree -- on its own -- can also bring about a very relaxing and serene feeling.

Further, whenever indoors, take a moment from time to time, take a deep breath, and picture yourself resting in a beautiful forest...)

Happy New Year, everyone!

May this year be like a river.

When we look at nature, we find that a river's path is often winding.

It does not usually travel in a straight line.

And yet, it will reach wherever it is supposed to reach... calmly, patiently... all in good time...

"Not all those who wander are lost."

- J. R. R. Tolkien.

It's much more enjoyable to take the winding road - the scenic route - because in that way, like a river, we get to see and experience so much more, rather than tensely, worriedly rushing on and on, looking for the fastest and shortest way possible -  from Point A to Point B...

And so, may 2013 be a good year.

May we learn to slow down a little more, enjoy the journey of life a little more, stop to smell the flowers along the way, and try not to worry too much about reaching a destination...

We'll get there in the end.

Life is not a straight line...

With warm regards, and wishing all of you all the best,
